So, I started my journey writing for the feels a few years back. In fact, I recently saw a memory about Janis announcing my first blog.

It’s been such a great run doing these blogs, telling stories about what it was like raising two boys at my age.

I shared stories about myself that I never shared with friends before. Somehow writing this blog helped me release these thoughts into the world.

But I was brought in to tell stories about being a father.

Something’s in my life haven’t changed much since I started writing. For example in my first blog I said I would teach my slob kids to pick up after themselves. They’re still slobs, Brady will literally drop things right the fuck in front of me and I’ll say pick it up daddy is old and can’t keep bending over. He will laugh and say you are halfway to 100 that’s not old. Little man is good at math at least.

Being a parent is a multitasking job. You gotta be a chef, driver, referee, waiter, and mathematician and that’s all just after school is out.

My kids always want more and more. Cameron last summer started bugging me that he wanted a kitten. I already have a cat, dog, three fish tanks and a wife to clean up and take care of. Of course I caved… we got the cat in November, he was happy, shit he picked out the cat. Doesn’t care for it, I asked him to start cleaning this litter box and he laughed at me and gave me a look like “you clean it bitch”. Now he wants a lizard or a snake…. I told him his mom already has a long snake…. I laughed and my wife shook her head and said it’s not that long.  My home life is the best.

As a parent you want your kids to have everything you didn’t have. My kids and wife have more clothes and shoes. Shit my kids have like six winter coats, I have one. You can’t open the closets because there are so many coats in there. My wife actually again tried to explain to me that different coats were for different temperatures. The kids asked if we were going away again for spring break and I said no because we spent so much money on winter coats. That went over well with Lorelei….

I actually hired an organizer to come to the house and help get things straightened out. Basically I was hoping that if she told my wife to throw things out my wife would actually listen. God forbid she throw out games and toys that the kids haven’t played with in three years. But it was a huge success lorelei reorganized her entire office and only threw out my stuff… but I’ll tell you people get one of these organizers they did help greatly.

Ok so now the sentimental side of Michael. I wanted to write one more blog for the feels. Our lovely leader Jennifer is closing it down. I’ve read so many great bloggers on this site, so many amazing stories, made some new friends, learned a little bit about them and about myself. Thank you everyone for reading my blogs and commenting, it meant the world to me.
